Freedom Play Kick Off Event is August 15
Everyone is asking me what we will be doing at the play events. Play, as you may know, defies explanation. It is best experienced to understand it. So why play now, as an adult? There are many reasons! Play begins with a primal urge and does not require words or organized plans…just watch kittens and puppies at play. Yet, it serves to help shape the brain by promotingcreative, free flowing engagement in an environment that is always in a state of change. Play allows us to try new things, test ourselves and assess how we choose to repond in any given moment. It allows us to discover things about ourselves and what feels good. Most importantly, play is a way to facilitate and sustain social relationships.
Because some of us have not played in a long time or others are simply shy, Freedom Play offers a semi-structured environment where a trained life coach guides the players in forming partners, small groups and then larger groups to cooperatively experience a playful event that is safe, noncompetitive, and intended to promote feelings of well being. The all-inclusive nature of the event, combined with the ground rules to make certain that everyone feels like they are safely a part of the action is a big bonus.
A wide variety of playful events are woven together over the course of an hour to build group energy. Over time, the group as a whole experiences a connection as everyone comes together in a creative process that fosters cooperation and fun. The experience is different each time Freedom Play takes place, because the people change as do the specific play events. All in all, the intention is to bring people together in a unique way so that they can experience “community in action”. Freedom Play can be used in isolation, as an icebreaker event preceding a meeting/conference, or as a more intentional means of healing within certain groups in the arena of integrative medicne. There is no boudary to our imagination and where we can take this together!
Play prepares us for ambiguous and unique challeges. People and animals who play are more adaptable in a changing environement. So let’s play, even if it is for no reason at all! Please click on the “Play Events” page for dates, time and location.

At the heart of every issue, there is something to be discovered about how we view the world and what it evokes in us.
Discover your authentic self and live it fully. Focus on what you have to give in the world, rather than what you are lacking within yourself. My clients have reported new levels of confidence because they gained the ability to clearly see what contributes to their success and what no longer serves them. They depart knowing how to coach themselves through any challenge that shows up. Most importantly, they feel a sense of balance and well being that comes from having the freedom to choose the direction of their life. Coaching by phone is just as powerful as coaching in person. Try it and see.

I realized as my twins turned 21 years old this spring that it was time to give birth to a new me. With the new title of “empty nester” comes the creation of space to allow for new things to unfold in my life. I have never been shy of personal growth. I moved to Tucson, leaving two properties for sale back in Philadelphia, with the belief that my personal possessions should not own me. However, I discovered that “letting go” is not always an easy practice. This is true not only of the possessions I own, but of the habits I have formed in everyday living.
Once in Tucson, I entered into a life coaching school, Newfield Network, and a year-long, intense process of being coached, rediscovering new layers of self, and letting go! I learned to identify and release old moods that I thought were my “personality”. It has been a relief to be able to choose an alternative, more empowering mood to replace the one I was feeling, when it arose. I learned to let go of old beliefs that once helped me fit into the culture back east. I became softer, opening to the beliefs of others without judging them or bumping into them. Letting go has created the space for new experiences to unfold.
The possibilities for new ways of living have been enormous in the past two years. I have experienced the desert and all of its beauty, the rythms of the Southwest, new activities, such as hiking most days, and the challenges of making new friends in this part of the country. On the interior, I have discovered an inner calmness that is complimented by a new purpose. Navigating these changes has not been easy. I had to implement courage strategies that I recently learned. I also developed new practices to sustain my shifts. And I relied on my network of support, trusted old friends and family, who have been so important to me and whom I wish to thank for witnessing my growth. I feel deep gratitude and joy for having so many people be a part of my life. This new web site is just one aspect of my growth. Core Discovery Coaching is the manifestation of my wish is to be a gift in the world, to give back and be a support to you in your growth. May we walk the path of love and compassion together, as we support and witness each other.
